The
Tipp City radio amateurs provide
vital parade communications via amateur radio for the annual Tipp City Mum Festival Parade.
Typically, there is a radio amateur with each parade marshal and one radio
operator in a central location as net control. The net control operator
for the parade operates from a vehicle that
is set up for necessary radio operations. The vehicle
is set up to operate all frequencies from 160 meters to 70 cm. Parade
order corrections and no-show units are transmitted over packet
radio on 220 MHz to the parade reviewing stand.
The
2012 Mum Festival Parade communications will be coordinated
by Tipp City amateur radio operators.
Please join us at the Mum Festival Parade on September 29, 2010.
